Target Audience: Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses

Description: This eight hour online course provides an overview of IV therapy and meets the Nebraska Board of Nursing licensure requirement for LPNs. It also provides an excellent review for RNs who have not utilized IV therapy recently. The entire course is online. There is no in-person lab session. Topics include legal aspects of IV therapy, peripheral IVs, and central lines. Continuing nursing education contact hours are awarded for those who meet the requirements for successful completion. Participants may complete at their own pace. Course is open 30 days from registration date. No extensions are provided.

Requirements for Successful Completion: In order to receive contact hours the learner must: 

• Complete the online modules. 
• Complete the post-test with a score of 80% or higher. 
• Complete the online course evaluation survey including attestation of completion.

Continuing Nursing Education:

Clarkson College Professional Development is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Midwest Multistate Division, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
